Working outdoors in a Garden Center!  Performing duties in sales and customer service, receiving and stocking freight, building and maintaining displays, plant care and operating the cash register.

These are Seasonal/temporary only positions working March – Late June. 

 Year-round work is not available. 

Garden Center Employee Position

 Essential Responsibilities

·      Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service.

·      Make sure all products are put up in a timely fashion.

·      Maintain plant health by correct care and placement.

·      Build and restock displays and follow plan-o-grams given.

·      Ensure the store is swept and clean.

·      Accurately and efficiently complete sales transactions and maintain proper accountability on the register. 

Required Skills/Knowledge

·      Ability to communicate with customers, other peers and management.

·      Ability to work with a cash register.

·      Able to handle complaints and problems as they arise from customers.

·      Basic plant knowledge or the willingness to learn about plants and gardening.

·      The ability to stand/walk on your feet for the entire shift on concrete parking lots.

·      The ability to lift up to 20lbs repeatedly for the entire duration of your shift.

·      The ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally.

·      The ability to stoop and bend repeatedly for the entire duration of your work shift.

·      The ability to work in the outdoors, which could include weather as cold as 22 degrees and as hot ad 115 degrees and in sun exposure for the entire duration of your work shift.

We are also looking for Shift Leads

 Shift Leads must perform all the task of a Garden Center Employee and meet all of the same required skills and knowledge.  In addition to the work of a Garden Center Employee, Shift Leads will have the following responsibilities:

·      Responsible for Garden Center keys to open and/or close the store pending your work shift.

·      Responsible for maintaining starting cash bags throughout the season.

·      Leads working a closing shift will be responsible for depositing the entire day’s cash and check deposits on the next banking day. 

·      Serving as the primary communication link between Headquarters and the rest of the Garden Center Staff. 

·      Helping to train Garden Center Staff.

·      Leading and delegating work task to staff on duty to make sure store priorities are being meant. 

·      Helping to ensure company policy and procedures are being followed by all staff. 

Work Shifts: Our application will ask for your available work times so that we can determine if they meet our current needs.  We will be needing to fill shifts during the following days and times:

            Sundays 9:45am to 6:30pm

            Mondays through Fridays: 8:45am to 7:30pm

            Saturdays 7:45am to 7:30pm

Garden Center Employee Pay: $15/hr

Garden Center Shift Lead Pay: $19/hr
